About Cliff Knizley
I studied classical piano from the ages of 6 to 15. During those years I earned superior ratings while performing in statewide festivals and competitions. At the age of 15, I picked up the electric guitar as a hobby and went on to play in a variety of cover bands through college. Steel string acoustic, alternate tunings and songwriting soon became my primary interest.
In 1993, I formed Mood Groove, a jazzy, fusion type band that frightened club-goers everywhere until 1995. After my departure from Mood Groove.I played in various acoustic groups. In 1997, I saw the late Michael Hedges in concert and found my direction: combining singer/songwriter material fused with solo guitar pieces.
To this date, I've released four albums of original material: 2002’s Down This Road and 1999’s Let It Go, each recorded with bassist Kevin Wilson and percussionist Jimmy Millsaps; 1998’s Passing and 2002’s Still Morning, both solo albums featuring vocals and guitar. I currently perform solo throughout Florida and other Southern states.
