“Someday Soon” she thought, “my prince will come.”
“Someday Soon I know that he will return.”
At night sometimes, she’d wake up screaming.
Then tell herself that it was just a dream.
When tomorrow comes around
things will be much better that they seem.
“Someday Soon” she thought, “he’ll come back for me.
“Someday Soon, just wait and see.”
The harder she tried to hang on, the deeper she fell into her wishing well.
The more time went by, the truth became harder for her to deny
and she’d cry, then she’d sigh.
The season burned on, so hot and dry
it seemed to never rain.
She’d lay there waiting in bed
for the water to come and wash away the pain.
“Someday Soon” she thought, “I’ll start again.”
“Someday Soon the long hot summer will end.”
